The Camper’s take
Well-organized high-altitude parking (2000 m) with leveled terraces and individual picnic tables. Exceptional mountain setting overlooking Pic de Tarbésou, ideal trailhead for hiking (lakes, loop hikes). Road has minimal night traffic. Narrow access via Mijanes unsuitable for large vehicles. No services (water, bins). Very peaceful.
Highlights
- Flat and individual pitches with picnic tables
- Spectacular panoramic view of the valley and Pic de Tarbésou
- Peaceful nights with excellent tranquility
- Starting point for varied hikes (Tarbésou, Black and Blue Lakes)
Good to know
- Narrow, winding access via Mijanes strongly discouraged for campers over 7.5m.
- Canadian iron barriers tricky to cross in bad weather (slippery risk).
- No services: no water or bins
- High altitude with intense cold and possible winter road closures
Motorhome access : Very difficult access via Mijanes (narrow, winding road with sharp bends). Crossing cattle grids on uneven ground tricky when wet. Suitable for small vans/motorhomes under 7.5m. Narrow entrance to squeeze through slowly.
