Free mountain parking at Col de la Croix de Fer (2068 m), no official facilities. Two parking areas with spectacular 360° views of the Aiguilles d'Arves and alpine lakes. Starting point for marked hiking trails of all levels. Flat, gravel terrain. Quiet at night despite daytime traffic (cars, motorcycles). Small café-restaurant nearby (summer). Access road is narrow and winding.
