Free parking at the top of Col du Lautaret, cleared of snow in winter. Outstanding views of the Meije and surrounding glaciers. Quiet at night despite nearby traffic. Gravel surface with uneven terrain, flat spots available. Drinking water on-site. No technical services (waste disposal, electricity). Ideal for hikers and winter mountaineering. Best visited outside peak traffic periods.
