The Camper’s take
Lakeside parking below a bar/restaurant on Lake Verdon. Height-restricted barrier at 2 m with 2-4 spots before it and more for lower vehicles. Sloped access, gravel surface. No official facilities (camping toilets nearby only). Very quiet at night, busier during day (anglers, hikers). Starting point for lake circuit and walks.
Highlights
- Very quiet at night with a great view of the lake
- Next to the water with easy access to hiking trails
- Anti-intrusion measures keeping the site well-preserved
Good to know
- Very limited access and maneuvering for motorhomes over 2m in height
- No services available (water, electricity, toilets, bins); campground restrooms closed off-season
- Some tensions reported with locals and police patrols
Motorhome access : Slope access. A 2m barrier severely limits spaces: only 2-4 spots before it for standard campervans. After the barrier, several spots for low vans. Maneuvering very difficult, half-turn nearly impossible for large vehicles. Best for vans and small campervans only.
