Parking at the former Vauplane ski station, 1600 m elevation. Large, flat area, deserted in summer—ideal for camper vans. Excellent starting point for hiking, MTB, ski touring, and snowshoeing. Extremely peaceful with outstanding starry skies. Main drawback: virtually no cell service at the parking area (signal available at higher elevations). Exposed to wind. Easy access.
