The Camper’s take
Small parking on the oyster port of Talmont-Saint-Hilaire, facing seafood producers. Clean public toilets. Peaceful, sheltered setting with lagoon views. Tolerated parking outside season, but banned from May 1 to September 30 and between 8 PM and 8 AM. Difficult access for large motorhomes. Excellent for tastings and direct purchases from oystermen. Best suited for small vans and campers.
Highlights
- Tastings of oysters and seafood directly with friendly local producers
- Very peaceful and tranquil setting at night out of season
- On-site public toilets, well maintained
Good to know
- No parking May 1 to September 30 in the municipality
- Parking is tight and gets congested in peak season and on nice days
- Access restricted: poorly suited for large campervans (low clearance/narrow passages).
Motorhome access : Parking is tight, and maneuvering is delicate. Height and width restrictions apply for larger vehicles. Small vans and campervans are better suited. Arrive late (after 7 PM) during peak season
