The Camper’s take
Mountain pasture parking near Tentes ski lifts with exceptional panoramic views. Home to cattle, sheep and marmots in their natural habitat. Multiple parking areas with varying access and terrain. Free. Very peaceful except summer peaks. Warning: pastoral zone, overnight parking forbidden higher up (national park). Outstanding for nature immersion and wildlife watching.
Highlights
- Stunning panoramic view and magnificent mountain setting
- Easy sightings of marmots, cows and sheep
- Perfectly quiet outside peak season
- Several pitches available (gravel, natural path)
Good to know
- Very busy and overcrowded in August
- Flood risk under vans during heavy rain (stream)
- Final stretch difficult: stony, uneven path, 4x4 recommended
- Poor mobile phone coverage
Motorhome access : Access varies by spot. Gravel parking accessible. Upper paths rough and uneven, not recommended for large motorhomes (better for vans). Final road bumpy and poorly maintained.
