Petit Ballon, parking 650m below the summit at 1200m elevation. Outstanding panoramic views over the Alsatian plain. Multiple spread-out parking areas, mostly level but some uneven spots. Narrow access road on approach. Popular for sunsets and events (Tour de France). Quiet at night on weekdays, crowded weekends and daytime. Farm restaurant nearby. Numerous hiking trails. Pastoral setting with cattle and horses.

Motorhome access : Narrow uphill road, particularly challenging. Several small parking areas at the top with mostly flat spots, though some are uneven. Easy manoeuvring once at the top. Access is tricky but doable for moderately sized motorhomes.
