Description
Petit coin sous les arbres à l'écart de la route
The Camper’s take
Small forested spot off the main road, discreetly tucked away under pine trees with some possibility to retreat further. Proximity to departmental road but generally light traffic at night. Walking access to Varennes castle ruins (views over Lake Chambon). No facilities declared. Main issues: inconsistent hygiene standards among visitors (scattered toilet paper). Occasional early-morning agricultural machinery noise. Decent overnight stopover option.
Highlights
- Quiet and secluded spot under the fir trees
- Short walk to castle ruins and views of Lake Chambon
- Limited nighttime traffic
Good to know
- Scattered toilet paper (inconsistent hygiene standards)
- Noise from farm machinery between 6:30 and 8 AM
- Damp and muddy ground if you sink in with a 4x4
Motorhome access : Ground may be set back from the road, damp and muddy. Main access is straightforward but narrow.
