The Camper’s take
Large free parking near Lac Pavin, ideal for hikers and day-visitors. Gently sloped terrain with shaded and sunny spots. Easy access to the lake (5-minute walk), scenic loop trail (45 minutes). Public toilets and restaurant nearby. Overnight stays theoretically prohibited but tolerated in practice. Road noise varies by location. Poor mobile network coverage. Very busy during peak season.

Motorhome access : Very accessible with plenty of spaces and easy maneuvering. Caution: very busy from 9 AM to 5 PM; arrive after 5 PM. Uneven terrain; look for a relatively level spot.
