Description
Grande étendue au milieu de la forêt, très tranquille
The Camper’s take
Large forest plateau in the Jura countryside, centered on a historical Resistance monument. Access via forest track, passable but bumpy; northern approach not recommended. Very quiet, lightly trafficked spot ideal for self-sufficient travelers. Seasonal livestock and livestock guardian dogs present; mobile network very poor. Inaccessible in winter (snow).
Highlights
- Very calm and peaceful.
- Large space with minimal traffic
- Exceptional natural and historic setting
- Accessible for motorhomes via the main road
Good to know
- Mobile network is practically nonexistent
- Herds and patous in season (stress, barking)
- Access potholed and bumpy
- Cannot access in winter; theft risks reported.
Motorhome access : Forest track is suitable for small to medium-sized motorhomes, but the road is damaged with potholes. Avoid the northern access (D85): too narrow, steep and dangerous. Main access is possible by driving slowly. Manoeuvring is possible on a large open plateau.
