The Camper’s take
Wild camping spot beside a river with views of forest and mountains. Gravel parking at entrance (hiking trailhead), pastoral plateau beyond. Flat ground, winding and narrow access. No facilities. Summer pasture zone with free-roaming livestock (cattle, horses, shepherd dogs). Very peaceful atmosphere in evening when hikers depart.
Highlights
- Stunning natural setting with mountain views
- Very quiet in the late afternoon
- River accessible, ideal for swimming
- Flat and spacious for several vehicles
- Starting point for varied hikes
Good to know
- Narrow road access, winding and demanding for large campervans
- Hikers may fill up the spots during the day
- Private grazing area: tricky in peak season, unpredictable livestock
- Possible humidity, little morning sunlight (mountains)
- Risk of getting stuck on pastoral plateau if ground is damp
Motorhome access : Difficult access: very steep, narrow and winding mountain road. Main parking area on dirt is fine, but the pastoral plateau further on is for grazing and risky (possible bogging down). Manoeuvring is tricky for large vehicles.
