The Camper’s take
Large shaded free parking at the foot of the troglodytic Abbey of Saint-Roman. Two access routes available: one via a narrow 3.10m-high tunnel (not recommended for large vans), another more suitable. Very quiet and secure nights. Bins and picnic tables available. Numerous hiking trails. No services (water, electricity, toilets). Guided tours and geocaching activities nearby.
Highlights
- Extremely peaceful and quiet at night
- Stunning site with a troglodytic abbey and hikes
- Large spacious parking lot with shaded areas
- Secure and monitored parking lot during the day
Good to know
- Access via a very narrow tunnel (3.1m height) – risk of damage for large vehicles.
- No services (no water, no electricity, no toilets)
- Multiple confusing access points can lead to navigation errors
Motorhome access : Very difficult access from the south (3.10m height limit tunnel, narrow width – risk of damage). Better to approach via the alternative route west/southwest via Remoulins. Tricky maneuvers, tight passage under a bridge. Uneven, hard-packed ground. Recommended for vehicles under 6m.
