Le château d'Aguilar (Aguilar en occitan) est un château dit cathare situé à l'est de Tuchan, dans le département de l'Aude. C'est un château datant peut-être du XIIe siècle dont la construction continue durant le XIIIe et le XIVe siècle. Château féodal aux mains de la famille de Termes il devient au XIIIe siècle une forteresse royale. En cours de restauration. Point accueil, table de pique-nique, petit parking et grand parking

Free parking at the foot of a medieval Cathar castle under restoration, with spectacular views over the valley and Mount Canigou. Access via narrow, steep road (difficult passing, 6 m length limit), unsuitable for large vehicles. Spacious flat car park, clean dry toilets, picnic tables. Very peaceful location with free castle access outside opening hours. Plan arrival early morning or late evening to avoid oncoming traffic.

Motorhome access : Very narrow and steep access road with high incline in places. No passing possible: must go up in the morning and down in the evening. Vehicle length limit: maximum 6 m. Parking entrance is a tight right-angle turn. Watch out for GPS (risk of impassable dirt tracks). Possible with converted camper vans and small vans under 6 m.
