The Camper’s take
Two municipal parking areas (upper and lower) along the Tarn Gorge in La Malène, with access to a small beach and hillside village featuring shops and bakery. Water and public toilets available on upper lot (sometimes closed). Outstanding views, peaceful setting outside peak season. Strict overnight ban (20h-8h) enforced since 2021 with regular police checks. Limited spaces, flat terrain.
Highlights
- Spectacular view of the Tarn Gorges with access to a small beach
- Perfect for exploring the village and its amenities (bakery, restaurants)
- Flat parking area well-organized (numbered spots), quiet off-season
Good to know
- Strict overnight stay ban (8 PM–8 AM) since 2021, frequent gendarmerie checks and possible fines
- Toilets and water often closed out of season
- Very limited spaces in peak season, narrow access via winding road (6m limit from Sainte-Enimie)
Motorhome access : Flat terrain, accessible but the route from Sainte-Enimie is narrow and winding (road closed to vehicles over 6 m). Better to use RD43. Easy once parked.
