The Camper’s take
Large free parking overlooking the Dordogne River, at the foot of Castelnaud castle, ideal for daytime visits. Easy walking access (10-15 min) to castle and village. Overnight parking strictly prohibited 20h-8h per signage (rarely enforced off-season). Flat terrain, clean public restrooms near school, excellent bakery nearby. Little shade. Fills quickly in season.

Motorhome access : Flat and well-levelled ground with tarmac parking. Easy maneuvering. However, limited spaces for motorhomes over 7m long. Direct easy access to the castle (steep uphill walk).
