Description

Madone de Saint Loup lieu calme avec vue imprenable sur le beaujolais, pays des pierres dorées jusqu'au val de Saône. L'accès se fait via le village de St Loup en passant après l'église (1er chemin à gauche après le château d'eau)

The Camper’s take

Stunning views over the Beaujolais wine region from Madone de Saint Loup. Access via the village with two route options (one more practical). Forested setting with pines, limited flat spots. Water tap and bins available. Popular daytime destination with picnickers and bikers. Nights typically quiet but rough, steep approach discourages larger vans.

Highlights

  • Exceptional panoramic views over the Beaujolais region
  • Peaceful nighttime atmosphere with plenty of space between vehicles
  • Drinkable water and trash bin available

Good to know

  • Very uneven access depending on the route (steep, rocky slope, bumpy terrain).
  • Very busy during the day (picnickers, groups) and rarely quiet
  • Cleanliness varies, daytime visitors cause damage (litter, wild toilets)

Motorhome access : Difficult access: roughly 10% rocky slope, very uneven and bumpy terrain. Two routes available; the rear detour (from the church) is more manageable than the direct climb. Not recommended for large motorhomes or in winter. Only a few flat spots at the bottom.
