The Camper’s take
Large free parking beside Moulin Neuf Lake, 800 m from the charming medieval village of Rochefort-en-Terre. Access via forest footpath (15-min walk from village). Spacious, mostly paved with shaded grassy areas. Public toilets and cold showers near the lake. Very quiet at night; busier during peak tourist seasons and daytime. Perfect base for lakeside walks and exploring the historic village.
Highlights
- Spacious and free parking, very quiet at night, especially in low season
- Easy access on foot to the picturesque village via a shaded forest trail
- Charming natural setting with a lake, stream, and a 10 km hiking trail around the lake
- Clean public toilets and showers 150m away, with recycling bins
Good to know
- Noisy during the day from passing cars and in peak season (restaurant customers)
- Parking fills up quickly in peak season and on weekends
- Showers with cold water only
- A few reports of poor etiquette (overflowing bins, theft risks)
Motorhome access : Great motorhome access: large parking area, mostly tarmac, flat, well-lit. Easy maneuvering. No restrictive barriers (one review mentions a 7.5m auto-caravan).
