Description
The Camper’s take
Small parking at the dead-end village of Salau in the Pyrenees. Two options: village exit near the bar (peaceful, stream noise), or at road's end facing an old mine site (stunning views, narrow access). Hiking trailhead. No services. Mountain road approach but manageable.
Highlights
- Stunning view from the end of the road
- Very peaceful and remote
- Starting point for varied hikes
- Soothing sound of the mountain stream
Good to know
- Very narrow access and uphill
- Possible mining machinery noise at the top
- Narrow access roads in the village
- Leveling blocks needed at the end of the road
Motorhome access : Narrow but well-maintained paved road. Gradual uphill to the village, then two options: a wide parking area just outside the village (easy) or a narrow road to the end (tricky maneuvering, not recommended for large vans).
