Description
Parking de départ de randonnées dans la RNN de la Grande Sassière. Très sympathique avec les Tarines et Abondances, les chamois dans les pentes supérieures et même la visite de 2 renards le soir parmi les vaches. Bref un endroit splendide, plutôt adapté aux fourgons qu'aux grands camping-cars, route d'accès étroite et sinueuse.
The Camper’s take
High-altitude trailhead parking (2200 m) in nature reserve with exceptional 360° views. Three-level lot with parking spurs, access to Grande Sassière peak (3747 m). Narrow, winding access road not ideal for large motorhomes. Heavy daytime traffic in peak season. Composting toilets. Rich wildlife: marmots, chamois, ibex, foxes. Best visited early morning or late evening.

Good to know
- The access road is very narrow and winding, with difficult crossings.
- Busy during the day (July–August), especially before 8 AM
- No bins
- Police regularly check and enforce motorhome camping bans
Motorhome access : Narrow and winding access road with a steep climb. Motorhomes up to 7-8m possible but maneuvers are tricky. Vans and small motorhomes are better suited. Passing is difficult if two large vehicles meet. Back-in parking possible on less flat terrain.
