The Camper’s take
High-altitude parking (1600m) at Chazelet with stunning north-facing Meije views. Exceptionally quiet mountain spot offering free toilets (no light), water point, and waste bins. Official 10€ nightly fee with inconsistent enforcement. Excellent hiking trailheads nearby. Easy access except narrow final village approach. Winter restrictions (15/12-15/4) if snow. Nearby restaurant. Popular with trekkers and nature seekers.

Motorhome access : Flat to slightly sloped parking with easy maneuvering. Entry possible, but the last hamlet (Terrasses) has a very narrow, slippery road in winter. At least 7.5m clearance confirmed.
