The Camper’s take
Free municipal service area at the foot of Col de la Madeleine, 10 km from the summit. Large paved parking with spectacular mountain views, accessed via narrow winding mountain road (not recommended for large vans). Functional services: grey water disposal, fresh water filling, spotless public toilets. On-site restaurant. Very peaceful atmosphere, popular with Tour de France cyclists.

Good to know
- The access road is very narrow and winding, with difficult two-way crossings.
- Water off in winter due to freezing
- No shade on the parking lot
- Not suitable for large motorhomes (over 2.20 m in width).
Motorhome access : Very narrow and winding mountain access. Road doesn’t always allow two vehicles to pass. Not recommended for large motorhomes (width >2.20m). Possible in summer via Col de la Madeleine (wider road), prefer this route.
